Award-winning harpist Keziah Thomas presents a solo pedal harp concert steeped in autumnal mystery, featuring spine-tingling works such as Saint-Saëns’ Danse Macabre, Bach’s dramatic Toccata and Fugue, Mussorgsky’s Night on a Bare Mountain, and the rich colours of Vivaldi’s Autumn from The Four Seasons. Let Keziah transport you through a twilight landscape where classical music meets the supernatural.
The innovative ChamberMusicBox is a group of keen and versatile musicians who enjoy performing a range of chamber music outside the standard formats of string quartet or piano trio. They gave their first concert in 2015, survived the first covid lockdown outdoors, and now perform a wide range of concerts in London and around the UK. Their exceptionally wide repertoire extends from duos and trios to octets and nonets. With performers on strings, flute and harp, they will play a selection of delightful chamber works including a string trio by Russo-Polish composer Weinberg, whose works are being rediscovered; there is also the Elegiac Trio by Arnold Bax, and some elegant French music by Ibert and Roussel.

Modern Times, released in 1936 starring Charlie Chaplin, centres on a luckless factory worker who finds himself so unnerved by trying to cope with modern technology that he ends up institutionalised. From there more mishaps and adventures ensue. It is regarded as one of Chaplin’s most comedic films and one of the last great silent films. Most notably, the film introduced Chaplin’s trademark song “Smile.”
